You have a singular opportunity to act to serve the most important purpose which the Hungarian Human Rights Foundation and thousands in North America, Europe and worldwide have pursued throughout the past four decades. A few minutes of your time can now make a historic impact to improve the lives of millions living as national minorities in Europe. The Minority Safepack Initiative — inspired by the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania (RMDSZ), and embraced by the 84-member Federal Union of European Nationalities (FUEN) — seeks to enact comprehensive legislation in the European Union to protect the rights of national minority communities. In order to achieve success, the Minority Safepack Initiative must be signed by 1,000,000 citizens of European Union counties by April 3, 2018.
What You can Do?
1. If you have Hungarian citizenship, sign the extremely simple online petition as soon as possible. Important: You may sign even if you are a citizen of the U.S. or another country so long as have Hungarian citizenship, or citizenship in another European Union country. Before clicking on the form, write down your 9-character Hungarian passport number. Once you have the Hungarian passport number, click on the online petition, and follow the self-explanatory instructions. (Citizenship and nationality should be Hungary and Hungarian.) You may complete the form in English or in Magyar, When finished, remember to print out your proof of completing the form and send HHRF a short e-mail, notifying us that you signed.
2. Whether or not you have citizenship of a European Union country, please use this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to contact all family members, friends, and acquaintances to ask them to also sign the online petition.
